About Us

Artemesia Publishing was founded in 2004 with the vision of publishing unique and interesting books. We realized there were authors waiting to tell their stories who might be overlooked by the larger publishers. We are a small independent publisher based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our focus has always been on publishing quality over quantity as we publish about one book a month, and this has led to numerous awards and recognition for our titles.

Artemesia Publishing is our main publishing banner and under it we publish a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. Our fiction has focused primarily on mysteries and thrillers (we are an approved publisher with Mystery Writers of America), historical fiction, and romance. Our non-fiction titles are a blend of science-themed coloring and activity books, books about baseball, and titles related to New Mexico. 

 

We have two imprints. Kinkajou Press was created in 2009 and focuses on middle grade and YA titles. These range from contemporary to historical fiction. Our other imprint is Shadow Dragon Press which was created in 2013 to publish horror, fantasy, and science fiction. 

Our titles are distributed by Independent Publishers Group (IPG) allowing us to have a national and international reach. With over 75 titles in print, and counting, Artemesia Publishing and our imprints will continue to seek out authors with compelling stories to tell and to bring exciting titles to print that will educate, inform, and entertain our readers.
