Corrales Writing Group
The Corrales Writing Group was established in 2012 to provide a comfortable setting for a group of authors to write and receive critiques of their work in a supportive environment. The writers have the opportunity to submit pieces every two weeks. Other members respond by indicating what is working, what is confusing, is there any repetition of words and thoughts, and finally by identifying what the work is about vs what the story may want to be about. The author is always in control of their product and can revise or not as they evaluate the input.
Members of the group engage in ongoing education to improve their writing. They attend workshops, classes, and writing conferences, and some of them have been presenters at these events. The organization has also provided information to other groups as to how to conduct a successful critique group and how to publish their work.
Since 2013, the Corrales Writing Group has published five anthologies of short stories and their e-book equivalents. These publications have received numerous awards at the state and national level as well as outstanding reviews. Individual members' stories, articles, and books have also been published nationally and internationally. Many of these works have received awards as well.
Members contributing to the anthology are shown above. New members are Peter Gooch and Joe Brown.
